Lady Lions defeat 3A No.5 Lucas Lovejoy, 5-2

The Lady Lions clearly have pitching depth, considering No. 2 Kamren Bragg held a state-ranked team in check on Saturday.

Coach Rodney McNeill elected not to put normal starting pitcher Taylor Maliska in the circle on Saturday at the Allen Tournament, but Ennis still did well to come away with a split.

In fact, while 5A Plano East beat Forney to win the tournament’s gold bracket, 5A Hebron topped Ennis in the championship game of the silver bracket. Prior to that, Ennis (8-2-1) defeated Lucas Lovejoy, the state’s No. 5 team in 3A.
