Lions Club increases scholarship award

The Ennis Lions Club is increasing its annual scholarship award amount, according to long-time club Secretary Bob Taylor.

The club will spend $24,155 on its various charitable projects in its 2014-2015 project year, according to Taylor and budget documents provided to the Ennis Daily News.

Taylor said the club will change its scholarship program going award, offering five students $1,000 scholarships as opposed to offering nine students $500 scholarships.
