Mosquito program may wrap

The city may cut its mosquito spraying at the end of September if the city sees no infections or signs of West Nile by then.

Ennis, the only municipality in Ellis County with an active spray program, has seen no positive human cases or positive mosquito pool tests returned from the Texas Department of State Health Services. The spraying program began in late June after a positive blood West Nile antibody test for a resident just outside city limits spurred concerns.
