Motorcyclist dies after Palmer accident

Palmer police said a man died on Friday after the motorcycle he was driving was T-boned by a vehicle on Friday.
Police and fire units were called to the intersection of Jefferson Street and Joy Lane at 11:57 a.m. on a call of a major accident.
Upon arrival police found Thomas Lee Chapman, 58, the driver of the motorcycle and another vehicle at the intersection. Police said they rushed to administer CPR to Chapman at the scene but were unsuccessful. Chapman was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
Police said the driver of the vehicle did stop at the intersection and told police after looking in both directions did not see Chapman approaching. Police said the driver of the car stayed on the scene until police and paramedics arrived to give a statement where he told police that the glasses he was wearing may have caused a blind spot, and once pulled out into the intersection struck Chapman in turn not detecting the motorcycle until they both collided.
