Officer with pointed ears joins Ennis PD


Mans best friend has taken on a new look but is still in search of a new name. The Ennis Police Department has welcomed its newest member to the force in a Belgian Malinois born and bred shepherd. While he came from the Western European country of Belgium, he received his training in Longford, Kansas at the K9 Working Dogs International. John Erisman, the chief of police, has placed a priority concern for keeping a narcotics detecting dog on staff in recent years. The unnamed Malinois has replaced “Snitch,” his predecessor.
