One arrested after road rage incident

Ennis police arrested a man from Clevland, Texas after a road rage incident on Dec. 22. Robert Havens, 21, has been charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon for an incident that took place at about 1 p.m. Ennis Police Lt Mike Hopson said Havens and his wife were traveling on Interstate Highway 45 and thought a car was following them for some reason. They pulled into the Exxon at U.S. Highway 287 and Highway 34. The victims (then) drove around the building. “Havens told police he was cut off on the highway,” said Hopson. “Video captured during the incident shows Havens run across the parking lot (of the gas station) carrying a baseball bat and throwing it through the passenger side window of the car that he thought was following them. He injured the front seat passenger and the driver.” Read this story and more in your Weekend edition of The Ennis News. Be informed, subscribe today!
