One injured in U.S. Polyco fire


One man was injured and transported by ambulance after he fell 30-feet off of a tanker at U.S. Polyco on Monday. Fire officials said a contractor, who works for R-Tex in Cleburne, was on top of an empty tanker at the plant using a blowtorch when he was injured. He was working to dismantle the tanker, which was damaged in a previous explosion back in February. Ennis Fire Marshal Chad Wester believes sparks from the torch either came into contact with either a flammable product or vapors — sparking the explosion.
