For the third time in the last six seasons, Palmer Bulldog baseball is headed to the Region 2 Final.

On Friday night in Grapevine, Palmer (21-12) rode consistent offense to a 14-7 victory over the Krum Bobcats in the Region 2 Semifinals. The Bulldogs finished with more hits (16-12) and fewer errors (1-2).

“Krum ended up walking us eight times, which helped our offense, but to get 16 hits at this point in the season was great,” said coach Jay Johnson. “Their pitcher wasn’t bad, but we put pressure on him with timely hits.”

Once again, ace pitcher Zach Hobbs (7 IP, 7 R — 5 ER, 12 H, 1 W, 7 SO) was up to the task. After allowing two runs in the opening inning, he didn’t allow another Krum run until the fifth.”
