Pitts’ bill gets OK

A piece of legislation by Rep. Jim Pitts born from a request from Red Oak ISD has passed a critical vote in the House.
HB 347, which the Legislature’s digital records show passed by a 130-15 margin Tuesday, would prohibit the use of wireless communication devices while operating motor vehicles on school property. The last regulatory measures on communication devices in connection to schools was slightly different — a 2011 bill made cellular phone use illegal in school zones.
