Plans for US 287 unveiled

The Texas Department of Transportation and the City of Ennis held a public hearing at Ennis High School on Thursday to inform the public about proposed plans to reconstruct and expand US 287.

The $93.3 million proposed highway expansion would include a four-lane divided highway and continuous two-lane frontage roads in each direction, approximately 4.5 miles from SH 34 to Old Alma Road. Both frontage roads would also include six-foot sidewalks.
