One injured in weekend crash

One person was injured in the two-vehicle accident near the Texas Motorplex on U.S. Hwy 287 over

the weekend.

According to the crash report, Jose Monsivais, 42, the driver of a blue Dodge pickup with its bed

smashed in, was at fault in the accident.

According to the report, Monsivais pulled out onto the northbound side of the highway from Old Boyce

Road when it was “unsafe to do so.” The white Chevrolet pickup, driven by Red Oak resident Richard

Horn, 29, barreled into the back of the Dodge before veering across both sides of the highway and then

435 feet into the adjacent crop field, according to the report.
