Printer cutbacks cause frustration

Phil Banker, phil@ennisdailynews.com

Ennis ISD Board Trustee Alan Linson was critical of a cost-cutting measure implemented at local campuses that is causing headaches as he spoke at the most recent board meeting.

Lisa Fincher, assistant superintendent for finance, said at the board’s Aug. 27 meeting that the district will save $150,000 by removing 371 of the roughly 600 printers from around the district.

Several board members, including Linson, argue the move doesn’t save as much as was indicated, and that money saved may not be worth the hassle to those who use those printers.
