Raises on the table

Ennis’ draft of its coming year budget includes a perk that some peer municipalities currently lack: Employee raises.

City cost containment over the past three years has, alongside some noticeable growth in tax valuations that should boost tax revenue, has created the necessary wiggle room to provide for a 2-percent pay increase for the city’s roughly 170 employees.
