Red Oak police investigating death of motorist after two-vehicle wreck


Red Oak police said one man has died of injuries sustained in a two-vehicle wreck that occurred on Aug. 8. The driver was identified as 24-year-old, Samuel L. Baptiste of Red Oak. According to a report, dispatchers at the Northern Ellis Emergency Dispatch center were notified by a Red Oak Independent School Police Resource Officer of an accident in the 1500 block of Ovilla Rd. (FM 664) at 10:08 a.m. The reporting person advised that two vehicles were involved in a crash and both drivers appeared to be injured. Red Oak police and fire personnel were dispatched to the scene.
