Roadwork bid comes in low

The city’s road program for the summer — its significant bond program since 2011 — may have some wiggle room for more work than was initially planned.

Bids for the work, part of a $6 million package with $5.3 million in funds devoted to construction costs, came in about $500,000 below the original estimate at $4,688,261.12.
