A CUT ABOVE – EHS student’s dress goes viral


Jada Edwards, a senior at Ennis High, took on a prom dress project that has taken Facebook by storm. When the Fashion Design 2 class at Ennis High decided to offer a prom dress challenge, one student’s project became so popular that the Facebook post showcasing it went viral. Jada Edwards’ yellow sequin-embroidered and ostrich-plumed evening dress caught the Internet’s attention last Monday when photos of her making and wearing the stunning creation were shared on the “Ennis ISD CTE” page on Facebook. As of Friday morning, the post had drawn over 8,000 likes, had been shared more than 3,500 times and some 511 people had commented on Edwards’ romantic and stylish gown. “My plan for the future was to become a math teacher like my mom, but now – since my dress has gone viral on Facebook – a lot of people have persuaded me to have a fashion career as a side job,” Edwards, a senior, told the Ennis News on Thursday.
