AgTexas recognizes AgYouth honorees


Outstanding 4-H and FFA high school students received prominent recognition for their dedication to agriculture through AgTexas Farm Credit Services’ 4th Annual AgYouth Banquet at the Granbury Resort & Conference Center on May 8. Ellis County honorees were Madeline Makovy (Ennis FFA) and Bryce Norwood (Midlothian FFA). Of these two, Makovy received a $1,000 scholarship. In addition, each of the 18 honorees received a $100 Visa gift card. Five students were selected from Central Texas schools to receive scholarships, including Makovy. Madeline was joined at the banquet by her Ellis County 4-H leader, Megan Parr, and FFA advisor from Ennis High School, Bethany Tucker. She participated in the Ellis County Junior Livestock Show, where she earned a top-five finish in her steer’s class.
