GAKAC nearing goals

One of most popular community service events, Give A Kid A Chance, is about three weeks away and organizers still have a few needs yet to be met.

Slated for Saturday, Aug. 15, at Ennis High School, the event begins at 8 a.m. and concludes by 4 p.m. Hundreds of volunteers and a long list of organizations and contributors have labored for nearly a year to help families with tangible expressions of support. The impact of GAKAC lasts far beyond the eight hours on one summer Saturday.
