New search firm begins hunt for supt.


After a fruitless fall in terms of securing the heir to the vacant Ennis Independent School District superintendent position, the Board of Trustees decided last week to a hire the services of a different search group to help the process reach a conclusion this spring.
Dr. John Chapman III, who held the title for 4.5 years, stepped down at the end of the 2018 school year to accept an offer from the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD. The Ennis school board hired Lloyd Treadwell as interim superintendent during the hunt for a new head of schools. A search firm was brought on board, though they failed to produce a candidate the trustees viewed as viable. Also, Treadwell agreed to remain the interim through the second semester.
