School makes solid financial moves

Two decisions made during Tuesday’s Ennis Independent School District board meeting should result in debt savings and better management of its eleven campuses.

The first of two moves, each unanimously approved, was to extend the food service contract with Sodexo to include their management of all EISD maintenance, grounds and custodial services. According to Dr. John E. Chapman, III, superintendent of Ennis schools, they have a well proven acumen during the past five years in handling food services.

“We have enjoyed a good relationship with Sodexo,” he said, “and the decision to approve widening their services makes solid financial sense. The amount of resources they have will save us time, money and energy.”
