Searching to Fill Void, Italy Names Interim Supt.

After two years as the superintendent over the Italy Independent School District in southern Ellis County, Lee Joffre, M.Ed, resigned in November to accept an offer to become head of the 3,500 students in the Mabank ISD schools system. Sixty-percent of them are from economically disadvantaged families. Joffre, according to one school official, had been with the district roughly eight years, over five of them as principal at the Class 2A high school and at the junior high to boot.
