Staged crash carries sobering message – Students produce Shattered Dreams dramatic scene

Ennis police, firefighters and paramedics assisted. Ennis High School was the scene of an outdoor tragedy last Friday, well, at least a simulated one. Shattered Dreams, a production by the EHS Student Council, was performed in front of the junior and senior class. It’s theme showed the effects of drinking and driving as a message to students. The program was timed to influence decisions made prior to the annual prom, which was held last weekend. Eleventh and twelfth graders were directed outside to witness a constructed car crash that was a pretended result of a high school student’s choice to drive while still intoxicated from the night before.
