Trustees adopt new EISD budget

Members of the board of trustees adopted a balanced budget proposal by the Ennis Independent School District.

General fund expenditures were planned to increase by approximately 6 percent over last year. That represents a three percent increase in property values and another three percent coming in enrollment growth. The latter, the district’s average daily attendance (ADA) is used in determining state revenues.

The ADA has risen from under 5,750 in ADA to just over 5,800 students in Ennis.
