Siren test expected after strike

Emergency system service was largely restored Thursday after a Wednesday evening lightning strike at Ennis police headquarters knocked out 911 and city emergency notification systems.
City Manager Steve Howerton said today the city’s 911 system was back in operation after a day of calls rolling over to the Ellis County Sheriff’s Office’s dispatch office.
