Spraying continues as community ducks West Nile infections

Mosquito spraying continues tonight in Ennis despite reports of no infections in town as Ellis County logged its 14th case of West Nile virus this week.

Two possible Ennis-area cases of the virus —one in the Longbranch Circle area near Bardwell and one in the area of Rice — have yet to be confirmed by the Texas Department of State Health Services, but city officials have set a twice-weekly spray schedule through the rest of the fall.
