State scrutinizing TB cases

Despite reports claiming the contrary, state health officials say there are no new “laboratory confirmed” cases of tuberculosis caused by the outbreak at Ennis High School.

Texas Department of State Health Services spokesperson Chris Van Deusen said although laboratory tests have not confirmed any new active tuberculosis cases, he said several abnormal chest x-rays have pinpointed what he called “suspect cases.”
