Super search firm hears concerns

Community members met with the man in charge of finding candidates for Ennis ISD Superintendent on Thursday, giving input on qualities they want to see in a new leader.

At lunch Thursday, business leaders met with Mike Smith of Education Solutions and Services at the Ennis Chamber of Commerce. The meeting, hosted by the Ennis Chamber of Commerce’s Partners in Education committee, brought chamber members face to face with Smith. Smith said that meeting, along with the others planned throughout the day, were vital to finding the best person for the job.

“At the end of the day, it’s about fit,” he said.

The firm met with teachers and school employees Thursday afternoon in a pair of meetings, and 15-20 community members Thursday evening at Ennis High School.
