Suspected cruelty case baffles local authorities

Garrett police have no leads or suspects in connection to a vicious attack that left a small dog blind.

Police Chief Bill Turnage said his department knows “absolutely nothing” about how a Shih Tzu mix ended up with both eyes gouged out on Wednesday, but he said a local veterinarian suspects foul play.

“It’s really tough on dogs because they can’t talk to us,” Turnage said.
