Theft leads to lockdown

Travis Elementary briefly went into lockdown Thursday morning as Ennis police arrested a robbery suspect nearby.

Lt. Mike Hopson of the Ennis Police Department said Justin Willard allegedly stole $38 of merchandise from Walmart before fleeing pursuing officers. Willard jumped over a fence at Travis Elementary during his escape, at which time he was caught and arrested by the police.
