One day after being arrested after allegedly stealing a complete car wash system valued at $50,000, the Ennis Police Department released the man who will likely be charged with the crime.

Lt. Mike Hopson said on Friday morning that Robert Booker, 58, a local citizen who is known as a metal scrapper, spent Wednesday night in jail on a public intoxication charge. He was also accused of stealing equipment from the premises of Laserwash, located on the corner of West Ennis Avenue and Preston Street.
