Time to polka

EDN file photos / David and Diane Liska, of Ennis, were named the king and queen of the 45th annual National Polka Festival in 2011. They were the winners of the annual king and queen dance competition that opens the festival weekend each year on the Friday before the festival kicks into gear. Tonight’s king and queen dance contest begins at 9 p.m. at the Sokol Hall on Hwy. 34 in Ennis.

The 46th annual National Polka Festival begins today in Ennis, starting with the king and queen dance contest at 9 p.m. at the Sokol Hall on Hwy. 34. Fritz Hodde and the Fabulous Six will perform live at the hall from 7 to 11 p.m. tonight for the annual polka pre-party.
