TxDOT plans safety upgrades for 287

Phil Banker, phil@ennisdailynews.com

The Texas Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting on Thursday, Oct. 30 to discuss proposed improvements to U.S. Highway 287 near the city.

City Manager Chuck Ewings said the city’s participation in the project may incur costs over $1 million and require the issuance of debt.

The proposed project area stretches along U.S. 287 between Interstate 45 and State Highway 34, according to a release sent to the Ennis City Commission.
