U.S. 287 crash injures four


Four people were airlifted to a Dallas hospital after the driver of vehicle lost control, skidded and rolled into a grassy median, ejecting two of the vehicle’s four occupants along U.S. 287 not far from the Ennis airport, on July 2, police said. According to reports, Ennis police and fire responded to reports of a crash at 4:05 p.m. in the 5500 block of U.S. 287 where they found a 2002 Ford F250 lying on its side in the median. Police said the vehicle and driver Martin Herrera, 54, was traveling southbound on U.S. 287 when it blew a tire causing Herrera to lose control, skid off the roadway and into the grassy median where it began to roll over eventually coming to rest on its side in the left lane of the northbound side of the roadway.
