Uptick of EISD Whooping Cough cases confirmed

Officials with Ennis ISD sent home letters to parents this week that cases of pertussis or “whopping cough” have been detected at several campuses across the district. According to the letter, cases have been reported at Carver ECC, Crockett ECC, Bowie Elementary, Miller Intermediate, and Ennis High School. “With fewer than five confirmed cases within a district of almost 5,800 students, we do not plan on making any further comment at this time,” said EISD Communications Director Bill Honza.
