Vape shops, others exempt from ordinance


The city has eased up on its smoking ordinance to allow vaping in retail stores that are solely devoted to the sale of cigarettes and smoking supplies and accessories. The commission approved the amendment to the ordinance at it’s meeting last week after the owners of a new shop in town asked the commission to make exceptions for store’s like his. Henry Cherry, who co-owns Top Shelf Vaping with locations in Kaufman, Gun Barrel City and now Ennis, just opened a vape shop at 105 NW Main Street where he is currently leasing.
