Walker, Frazier win in city commission races

Unofficial results from polling in the race for two positions on the Ennis City Commission saw incumbent Carolyn Frazier retain her Ward 2 seat and commission newcomer Matt Walker claim the open Ward 6 seat.

Of 902 total votes, Walker secured 459. His opponents, Ken Hackney and Booker T. Washington Jr., received 248 votes and 195 votes, respectively.

Walker claimed 244 of his votes in early voting, with Hackney earning 138 and Washington receiving 91.

Carolyn Frazier picked up 39 votes to opponent Marco Hernandez’s 13. Of those, 21 votes came early for Frazier, with 7 early for Hernandez.

Lola Searcy, running unopposed, received 28 votes. Chief John Erisman, facing no opposition in his bid to retain the city marshal seat, received 760 votes.
