Alvin Hubacek

Alvin Hubacek, 69, of Hutchins passed away on January 26, 2012 at Charlton Methodist Hospital. Alvin was born in Dallas, TX on October 17, 1942 to John and Mary (Blazek) Hubacek. Alvin grew up in Hutchins, Texas and attended Wilmer Hutchins High School.
Alvin was in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967, serving bravely in Vietnam on the USS Valley Forge. He later became a carpenter and an Over the Road Truck Driver, being an owner/operator. He particularly enjoyed working with Central Freight for ten years and GDS for about five years. He was a lifetime member of a Trucker’s Association and he attended the Holy Cross Catholic Community in Dallas. Alvin was also a farmer, master gardener, and enjoyed everything outdoors.
Alvin is survived by one son Kristin Hubacek and his wife Melissa Ann of Venus, three daughters; Kerri Hubacek of Americus, Kansas, and her husband Garland Hendrickson, Shelley Hubacek of Dallas, Shawna Hubacek of Dallas, and Brenda (Causey) Hubacek, mother of his children, four brothers; Elick Hubacek and his wife Lola of Big Sandy, George Hubacek and his wife Glenda of Big Sandy, Anthony Hubacek and his wife Vickie of Mt. Enterprise, and Johnny Hubacek and his wife Debbie of Dallas, several grand and great-grand children, Betty Slovak a long time friend, and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on January 31 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. John Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 1st at 10:00 Celebrated by Father John Dick. Interment will follow at 2:15 pm at the DFW National Cemetery.
