Annie J. Harris

Annie HarrisAnnie J. Harris, 90, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, December 9, 2013. Annie was born in Baskin, Louisiana on October 28, 1923 to Clarence A. and Nora S. (Crider) Johnson. She grew up in Baskin, LA and graduated from Baskin High School in 1941. At age 19 she moved to Dallas to seek her fame and fortune. There she found her true treasure and the love of her life, Lynn Reagan Harris. They married on May 11, 1945. Her husband’s job with Frito-Lay took them on many adventures from Dallas, Amarillo, San Antonio, Irving, Iowa and Indiana before moving to Ennis in 1977. She was Lynn’s constant support and kept the home fires burning. Annie worked for North American Aviation for three years as a riveter during World War II, and after raising her family, for Erwin Distributing five years in packing. She was a member of the Bardwell Church of Christ. She and her husband were faithful servants of the Lord their entire lives. She enjoyed gardening, reading, caring for her grandchildren and anyone in need of kindness. She is survived by sons: Denney Harris and his wife, Peggy of Boerne, TX and Rorie Harris and his wife, Barbara of Telico; daughters: Carma Sullivan and her husband, Jim of Ennis and Nona Diediker and her husband, Lyle of West Richland, WA; twelve grandchildren: ten great-grandchildren; one brother, Royce Johnson of Baskin, LA and one sister, Joyce Taylor of Shreveport, LA. She is preceded in death by her parents, one son, William W. Harris, III, one grandson, Robbie Green, two brothers and five sisters. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 11, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis with interment to follow in Elm Branch Cemetery of Bardwell under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. www.jekeevermortuary.com
