Betty Jane Ballew Wells

2292267Betty Jane Ballew Wells, 86, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 21, 2013. Betty was born in Ennis, Texas on March 3, 1927 to Thomas E. and Precious (Robinson) Ballew. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1944. On April 16, 1948 she married Walter L. “Buddy” Wells and they were lifelong residents of Ennis. She worked for Ennis State Bank as a teller, for Ennis Business Forms and finally for Cotton Belt Railroad as a clerk. She was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church where she taught several different Sunday School Classes. She loved to paint and passed her passion along to her family. She enjoyed traveling. She is survived by daughters: Debbie and her husband, Lonnie Taylor of Waxahachie, Kathy and her husband, John Vance of Ennis and Karen Wells of Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren: eleven great-grandchildren and one sister-in-law, Dorothy Pierce of Ennis. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Walter L. “Buddy” Wells on October 12, 2011, one son, Barry L. Wells in 1967, one sister and four brothers. Visitation will be on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013 at 2 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E.
