Betty Lou Dickinson 1938 – 2018

Betty Lou Dickinson, 80, passed away surrounded by loved ones on Monday, November 26, 2018 in Palmer, Texas.

Betty was born in Idabel, Oklahoma on November 26, 1938 to Mildred Effie Meineke. She grew up in Pasadena, Texas and graduated from Pasadena High School. She went on to earn her Bachelor’s Degree in English from North Texas State University. On April 21, 1962 she married Wayne Douglas Dickinson and they made their home in Dallas.

She worked for the Dallas ISD as an educator for five years and was self employed for many years. She was a member of the Oak Cliff Women’s Club and served as a Board Member of the Palmer ISD. Hobbies included playing bridge, traveling and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of over fifty-six years, Wayne Douglas Dickinson; daughter, Delisa Lapinsky; son, Drew Dickinson and wife, Brandee; and grandchildren: Michelle Lapinsky, Riley Dickinson, and Kyle Dickinson.

She is preceded in death by Mildred Meineke Ratliff.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 30, 2018 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Palmer.

A Celebration of her life took place on Saturday, December 1, 2018 at 10 a.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Palmer. Interment followed in Palmer Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
