David Lee Rudd

David RuddDavid Lee Rudd 66 of Yantis, former lifelong resident of Waxahachie went to be with his Lord and Savior Friday, May 3, 2013 near Quinlan. Funeral services celebrating David’s life were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Wes Coleson officiating; burial followed at Union Cemetery near Yantis. Pallbearers were Chase Rudd, Ryan Richards, Reuben “B.R.” Montemayor, Roger “Bubba” Montemayor, Eric Montemayor and Billy Benner David was born June 17, 1946 in Painesville, Ohio. He is the son of the late R.D. and Jewel Crisp Rudd. He came to Nash, Texas at the age of 2 where he was raised and attended school in Forreston. His brother Bobby Watson also preceded him in death. After graduating high school, he entered the United States Army and honorably served our country during the Vietnam Conflict. After his military stay, he returned to Waxahachie where he worked as a truck driver for 40 years, retiring in May 2009. He married the former Miss Rita Godwin on February 12, 2000 and they moved to Yantis, Texas near Lake Fork where David enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also enjoyed camping, entering fishing tournaments with his brother-in-law Wayne and just riding around in the country. He is loved and will be missed by his wife Rita; sons, Jed Rudd & wife Stacia of Granbury, Daniel Rudd of Waxahachie and Joseph Rudd of Addison. Daughter, Kristen Richards & husband Scott of Coppell; step-daughters, Tammy Vasquez & husband Alex of Garland, Crystal Montemayor & husband Eddie of Ennis and Tracy Williams & husband Jason of Waxahachie; 15 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Norma Rouse of Cedar Creek, Mary Crawford & husband Preston of Copperas Cove, Laura Johnson and Emily Newland & husband Lester all of Arkansas and Joyce Tucky of New York; brother-in-law, Wayne Godwin & wife Deborah of Wills Point; sister-in-law, Cathy King & husband David of Palmer.
