Dorothy Neoma Sjoberg

Dorothy Sjobers, 100, was born on December 15, 1910 in LaGrande, Oregon and died July 25, 2011.

At a very young age she moved to Kansas with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. V.V. Croy, and two brothers, Don and Noel. She attended schools in Kansas, and shortly after graduation she taught school for a few years. On June 4, 1934 she married Carl Gustov Sjoberg. Dorothey and Carl had three children, Noel, Gerald and James, while the children were young they moved to Blackwell, Oklahoma. In the late 1950’s they moved to Oklahoma City and lived there until 1960 when they moved to Livonia, Michigan. When Carl retired in 1973 they moved to Ennis, Texas. Carl died in August of 2000. During her life in Ennis, Dorothy was active in the First United Methodist Church and Twentieth Century Club. Dorothy’s daughter, Noel Gossett, nad her husband, DJ, live in Ennis. Gerald and his wife, Peggy, live in Hempstead, Texas. James and his wife, Carl, live near Corsicana. In addition to her three children Dorothy had five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Her first great-great-granddaughter was born a few days before her death.

Dorothy lived seven months past her 100th birthday.
