Eladia A. Valdez


Eladia A. Valdez, 93, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in Ennis, Texas. Eladia was born in Hillsboro, Texas on February 18, 1926 to Gumesindo and Lazara (Carrillo) Arriaga. She grew up in Cleburne, Texas and attended school there. On July 7, 1942 Eladia married Inocencio Valdez and they made their home in Ennis in the early 1940’s. Eladia worked at Leggett and Platt and for Donovan-Galvani as an inspector until her retirement. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church. She always put her heart and soul into her family whom she loved to cook for and enjoyed being outside working in her yard so they always had a comfortable place to come visit her. Eladia will be greatly missed by all who knew her and her memory will be held closest to her loving family including her sons: Johnny Valdez and George Valdez and wife, Janie; daughters: Mary Frances Garcia and husband, Albert and Margaret Aguinaga and husband, Ines; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Henley;son-in-law, Ralph Martinez along with a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Inocencio, daughter, Hope Valdez Martinez, daughter-in-law, Emma Villareal Valdez, four brothers and two sisters. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as celebrant. Pallbearers will be Eric Valdez, Albert Garcia, Jr., Kenneth Monreal, Alexander Valdez, Tom Garcia, Gilbert Garcia, Isaac Valdez and Neeko Gutierrez. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
