Emilie Lopez Rios 1952 – 2018


Emilie Rios passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 in Ennis, Texas. Emilie was born October 21, 1952 in Rankin, Texas to Guillermo and Alvina (Mendez) Lopez. She grew up in the Rankin area and attended Ennis Public Schools. On May 24, 1975 she married Pedro Rios. They made their home originally in Waxahachie, TX, then moved to Rice, TX in 2011. They moved to Ennis in 2018. She worked for Storey Manufacturing for 10 years and had previously worked for Haggar Slacks. More than anything, Emilie loved her family and enjoyed the time she spent with them and cooking for them. Emilie is survived by her husband, Pedro; four sons: Porfy Rios and his wife Kelli, Pete Rios, Jr. and his wife Leah, Dominiqué Rios and his wife Erin and Rolando Rios; four brothers: Sid Lopez, Robert Lopez, Sr., William Lopez and John Lopez, Sr.; three sisters: Rosemary Benavidez, Elvira Lopez and Lupe Alvarado; thirteen grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Margie Duron. Visitation was Tuesday, December 4, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. in Ennis. The Celebration of Emilie’s life took place Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at 11 a.m. in the J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. Chapel in Ennis. Interment was  in Waxahachie City Cemetery under the direction of J. E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
