Gloria Aguilar


Gloria Aguilar, age 70, passed away on May 21, 2019. She was born in the Byrd Rankin Community, Ellis County on October 26, 1948 to Jose and Juanita (Coronado) Lopez. She was affectionately known as Mom, who was a caregiver and loved to cook. Gloria was very frank and opinionated. Her favorites were spending time with family, traveling to see grandkids, Betty Boop, Andy Griffith, Tejano music, Casino slots, and soap operas. She was a devout Catholic, member of Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church, who prayed for herself and everyone else. Gloria is survived by her children, Tommy Aguilar and wife Anadalia, Tina Garcia and husband Julio, Michael Aguilar and wife Maria and Christina Montemayor and husband George, Jr.; grandchildren, T.J., Molly, Madison, Mack, Ashley, Elizabeth, Michael, Jr., Aiden, Christopher, Cortny, Amber, Erika, and Miranda; sixteen great grandchildren, brothers, Freddie Lopez and wife Irene, Johnny Joe Lopez, Richard Lopez and wife Lydia, Jerry Lopez and wife Brenda; sisters, Adela Carrillo, Mary Martinez and husband Jesse, and Dalia Escamilla. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, Jose and Juanita Lopez; her husband of 52 years, James Aguilar; brother, Robert Lopez; brother-in-law, Paul Carrillo; and sister-in-law, Gloria Lopez. The family will receive family and friends on Monday, May 27, 2019, from 5 to 8 p.m. with a Rosary at 6 p.m. at Boze Mitchell McKibbin Funeral Home in Ennis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 28, 2019, at Saint John Nepomucene Catholic Church with Father John Dick as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Saint Joseph Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Julio Garcia III, Tommy Aguilar, Jr., Christopher Montemayor, Michael Aguilar, Jr., Johnny Lopez, Jr., and Ruben Lopez. Arrangements are under the direction of the Boze-Mitchell-McKibbin Funeral Home, 800 S. Kaufman, Ennis, Texas. 972-878-2211
