Helen Loretta Matous

2521476Helen Loretta Matous, 71, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Monday, May 12, 2014.

Helen was born in Midland, Texas on September 27, 1942 to Harvey Lee and Reba Mae (Mooney) Bush. She graduated from Ennis High School. On October 8, 1960 she married Joe Matous, Sr. and they made their home in Ennis.

She worked for Ennis Business Forms as a proof reader for over thirty years. She was a member of the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, KJZT #16 and Catholic Daughters. She enjoyed reading, creative writing, crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her husband of over fifty-four years, Joe Matous, Sr. of Ennis; children: Joe Matous, Jr. and wife, Phyllis, Mark Matous and wife, Janie, Kim Gardner and husband, Wade, Michele Matous and Cesar Vasquez and Kathy Nash and husband, Paul; grandchildren: Nicole and Johnny Kazee, Derek Matous, Rosanna and Calvin Baw, Jr., Juan Suarez, Javier and Maria Suarez, Joel and Terri Suarez, Adam and Kelly Cortez, Malorie Toth and Adam Chavoya, Jay Toth, Justin Matous and Hope Bruce, Reba and Joshua Garcia, Sydney Melkovitz and Madison Melkovitz and Clint Nash, Jr.; great-grandchildren: Kenadie and Mekenzie Kazee, Becky and Danny Manion, Brooklyn and Cambry Cortez, Cristian Suarez and Blake Gutierrez; Brothers: Kenny Bush and wife, Mary, Jacky Bush and one sister Nancy Scott and husband, Jerry.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Reba Bush, grandchildren, Christopher Melkovitz, Jr. and Cristian Hefner and siblings, Betty Morris, Maybelle Morris, Harvey Bush, Jr. and Joann Bush.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial will take place on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 10 a.m. in the St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father John Dick as celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc.
