Henry Michael Kelly

Henry Michael Kelly passed away at the age of 79 on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 in Boerne, Texas.

Mike was born in Ennis, Texas to Raymond H. and Burlyn J. (Fowler) Kelly on October 15, 1932. He grew up in Ennis and attended school there playing football with the Ennis Lions football team as a half back and valuable player where he was one of the first to obtain the facemask. He graduated from Ennis High School in 1950. Mike married Patricia McEver on August 21, 1954 and they remained married until her passing in June 2006. They originally made their home in Pasadena for forty years and then fifteen years in Spring Branch. Mike served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1954 until 1956 and was with the reserves until 1962.

He worked for Phillips Oil Company as a P & T Mechanic until his retirement.

He is survived by, Michel J. Kelly, P. Michele Runnels, Kathy L. Kelly and Vicki E. Jones whom had become a member of the Kelly family in 1995; two sisters, Molly R. Tarrer and Mary Anne and her husband, Charles Gossett. Mike was blessed with four grandchildren, Steveena Morgan, T.J. Kelly, Patrick Bryan, Christopher Bryan and two great-grandchildren, Hailee M. Bryan and Aubrey A. Morgan. He was preceded in death by his wife Patricia, his sister, Tina Williams and a great-granddaughter McKenzie Kelly.

A Celebration of his life will take place on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at 3 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis officiated by his family. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m. and lasting until service time.
