Janie L. Blazek


Janie L. Blazek, 92, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Saturday, March 9, 2019. Janie was born in Ennis, Texas on January 13, 1927 to Frank and Annie (Martinek) Pavlacka. She grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1945. On January 28, 1947 she married Joe G. Blazek and they made their home in Ennis. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church and KJZT. She enjoyed working in her flower garden and vegetable gardens. Her family was the light of her life. She also enjoyed working with cattle. She is survived by sons: Joe Dean Blazek and wife, Betty Ann; Jimmy Ray Blazek and wife, Janice; Jerry Wayne Blazek and wife, Donna and Larry Gene Blazek and wife, Vicki; nine grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister, Elaine Parker and a host of extended family and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joe G. Blazek, one brother and a daughter-in-law, Patsy. Visitation was held on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the J.E. Keever Mortuary with Rosary at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian Burial was held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St John Nepomucene Catholic Church of Ennis with Father Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Pallbearers were Jason Blazek, Justin Blazek, Matthew Blazek, Michael Blazek, Don Kizer and Brandon Parker. Honorary Pallbearers were Katie Blazek, Billy Parker, Wesley Blazek, Justin Munn and Kristi Blazek Munn. Interment followed in St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary, Inc. In lieu of flowers please consider the St. Joseph Cemetery Association.
