John Hubert Gross

John Hubert Gross, 82, passed away in Ennis, Texas on Friday, November 9, 2018. John was born in Garvin, Oklahoma on March 28, 1936 to Homer T. and Alta Daisy (Wyatt) Gross. John was one of twelve children which included ten boys and two girls. He grew up in Valliant, Oklahoma. In 1958 he married Anita Kerstin Berg and they made their home in Oak Cliff, Red Oak, Waxahachie, Midlothian then to Ennis in 1978. He served his country proudly in the United States Army from 1959 until 1964 stationed in Korea. He was the owner and operator of several different stores including Elmer’s Drive-In, Alligator Jacks and Beer Warehouse. He is survived by sons: David Lowing and Sara Sinnett and Robin Gross and wife, Amie; daughter, Marie Cobb and husband, Lawrence; and grandchildren: Chris Anderson, Samantha Gross, Tanner Gross, Kristine Cobb and Daniel Cobb. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Johnny Gross. Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
