Johnny “Juan” Tobar

Johnny “Juan” Tobar, 60 passed away at his home in the presence of his family Thursday, November 24, 2011. Johnny was born December 30, 1950 to Andrew Tobar, and Irene Rivera Tobar in Italy Texas. Around the age of ten Johnny’s family moved to Ennis where he spent the remainder of his life.
On February 6, 1967 Johnny married the love of his life, Sarah Montemeyor and together they raised 12 children. Johnny spent most of his life working hard as a self-employed mechanic to take care of his family. He was a wonderful husband, loving father and grandfather, a very devoted family man, and a friend to everyone.
Johnny is survived by his wife Sarah Tobar, three sons; Juan Tobar Jr. of Terrell, David Tobar and wife Lisa of Rice, and Andrew Tobar Sr. of Ennis. He is survived by eight daughters, Cynthia Billingsley and husband Valton Sr. of Palmer, Irene Cardona and husband Isidro Sr. of Bardwell, Amy Davis and husband Robert of Ennis, Kathy Martinez and husband Juan of Ennis, Tina Tobar of Ennis, Nina Raney and husband Delbert Jr. of Ennis, Sarah Holloway and husband Anthony of Ennis, and Felicia Tobar of Ennis. He is also survived by two brothers; Florentino Tobar and wife Gima of Ennis, Antonio Tobar of Ennis, and one sister, Tamasita Montemayor of Seven Points. He has twenty-five grandchildren, six great grand daughters, and one faithful puppy named Windy.
He is preceded in death by his parents Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Tobar, one daughter, Hope Montemayor Tobar, four brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at the J.E. Keever Mortuary in Ennis from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, November 29. A celebration of his life will be held on Wedesday, November 30 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mitch Chapman officiating. Interment will follow at Myrtle Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary.
